Content creation & Writing
This website was created for ISAT 112: Environmental Issues in Science and Technology. This project brought my web design skills from my major, my love for service and bettering the world, and my new understanding of chemistry and environmental science together to produce a website that provides an overview of the 2018 National Climate Assessment Report and the Green New Deal, which is currently being supported by many new Congressional Democrats. This assignment was nominated to the 2019 JMU General Education Conference and was presented at the conference October 11, 2019.
This blog was written Fall 2018 for SMAD 407: Business and Management of Digital Media. Tasked with writing a minimum of 11 blog posts discussing some aspect of digital media over the course of the semester, I chose to find recent news articles or blog posts that were concerned with the human side of digital media, whether that was a news article about layoffs and mergers or one about the use of digital media in the 21st century political sphere.
This project was completed Spring 2018 as part of a WRTC class titled "Writing in the Community." As our final project, we partnered with Central Valley Habitat for Humanity, which provides services in the Central Shenandoah Valley. We profiled a Habitat family, decided how to construct their narrative in a way that was both sensitive and attention-grabbing, and created this site and the materials within it as both a marketing and informational tool for CVHFH. This project was completed Spring 2016 for WRTC 201: Theory and Methods of Writing, Rhetoric, and Technical Communication. The assignment was to analyze the effectiveness and strategies behind some form of communication, and I chose the then-fairly recent Nike ad campaign, "Better For It." Though the ads discussed are no longer available from Nike Women via their YouTube page, the analysis still stands.
This paper was written Spring 2017 and discusses the case Rivera v. Google, a digital privacy and Fourteenth Amendment case being argued in Illinois. Using academic and legal research and analysis, I discuss the history of privacy and what it means for digital privacy in the future.

E-business Proposal
This project was completed for SMAD 407, Business and Management of Digital Media. Students were divided into groups of 3-4 and tasked with developing a theoretical business and business plan from scratch, including SEO, design, and personnel requirements. As Chief Creative Officer of Palm Planner, I created the branding and design considerations, the visual mockups of our social media and website, and social media and web ads.
